Rock On 2018 Announced!

Rock On 2018!  will run July 9 -27 at Berkshire Community College. 

Songwriters Annie GuthrieBobby Sweet, and Wes Buckley will join Robin O’Herin for workshops on crafting a song, lyric writing, and performing as a solo artist.

Rapper Jackson Whalan and drummer Brandon Lewis, who perform together as Technicolor Lenses, will teach “Hip Hop and the Art of Rhyme” on rapping, lyric writing, music production, mixing, and editing. To delve deeper into music technology, students will also work with Jeff Link in BCC’s computer labs to learn SONAR and ProTools for live and digital recording. Jeff is also offering a morning class in “Fundamentals of Music and Sight Reading” … a must for students pursuing a college career in music.

Faculty members include Program director and guitarist Jay Fruet guitar virtuoso  Emil Werstler, vocalists Vikki True and Livio Gravini, pianist Ben Kohn, saxophonist Allen Livermore, and drummers Chris Mattoon and Jerry Giguere. Vladimir Zeleny, coordinates student performances with  Discover Pittsfield’s 3rd Thursday Celebrations, the Whitney Center for the Arts Teen Open Mic SeriesWilliamstown Theater Festival’s Community Works ProductionsThe Stationery Factory and Grow Dalton’s 413Heart Festival, and Albany Berkshire Ballet’s Process and Performance Project for Choreographers and Composers,
