Rock ON takes part in Berkshires Dream Auction

Rock On Workshop Summer Music Program for Young MusiciansRock On Workshop joins area businesses in celebrating the region by taking part in the Berkshires Dream Auction, donating ‘One full tuition to attend Rock On Workshop for Young Musicians – July 16th-20th and July 23rd-27th’. ($500 value) .

Rock On Workshop’s annual 2 week program for teens, in its 10th year, is held at Berkshire Community College, 1350 West Street Pittsfield MA, from 12 pm to 5pm. Workshops include instrument training, song writing, basic keyboard, special guest artists, recording techniques and band performances.

The fundraiser, presented by the Berkshire Visitors Bureau and 1Berkshire, supports the Berkshire Marketing Fund, helping to grow the Berkshire economy. The Berkshire Visitors Bureau’s board of directors created the Berkshire Marketing Fund in 2011 in order to reduce the region’s reliance on state funds to supplement cooperative marketing dollars raised through its members.

The online auction began on May 18, and runs until June 5.

The event culminates with a festive reception, silent auction, musical entertainment by the Boston University Tanglewood Institute musicians, and the announcement of the winner of the 2012 Berkshire Trendsetter Awards for innovative marketing and economic development.
