Congratulations to Dylan Waterhouse – awarded Rock On’s first college scholarship!

Dylan WaterhouseThe first Rock On! College Scholarship has been awarded to Dylan Waterhouse, an aspiring singer and actor, who will enter Berklee College of Music in September. The scholarship for $1,000 was presented to Dylan on July 29 by Mary and Akiva Talmi, founders of the Rock On young musicians workshop and the Cultural Resources Foundation.

 

Dylan is a 2008 Drury High School graduate. As a member of the Chorus and Drama Teams, Dylan was inducted into the International Thespian Society Troupe 5135 in 2007. He attended MMEA Western Districts in his junior and senior years with the chorus and received an MMEA All-State Recommendation as a senior.  During the 2010-2011 academic year, he attended Berkshire Community College and made the Dean’s List.

Dylan has lent his talents to several local productions. His performing credits include Judas in Godspell, Snoopy in Snoopy!!!The Musical with the St. John’s Players, and The Artful Dodger in Oliver! with Two of Us Productions. He has also performed as a soloist in Christmas at the Colonial with Mary Verdi. Dylan studied voice at Williams College with Keith Kibler and at Berkshire Community College with Kathleen MacDonald. Dylan is a native of N. Adams and is the son of Tammy Peltier and the late Shawn Waterhouse, and stepson of Jeff Peltier.

 

Rock On was formed in 2003 as a music education and training program for teens interested in pursuing careers in contemporary music. The program is held annually in July at Berkshire Community College. http://www.rockonworkshop.org
