There is so much going on this weekend, as is often the case here in the Berkshires. It all depends on your tastes. Here are a few ‘all ages’ shows featuring RockOn faculty and friends.
On Friday night, March 4, Tony Lee Thomas takes over the Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge with a concert to celebrate the release of his 3rd cd “Across the Twilight Sky”. Opening act Mountain Breeze will take the stage at 8pm. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 the day of the show and can be purchased online at berkshiretheatre.org or by calling the box office at 413-298-5576.
Jeff Link will be laying down some awesome jazz bass this weekend, performing with the Beth Rose Jazz Quartet at Baba Louies, on Friday, March 4th at 7pm . On Saturday night he performs with Unfulfilled Desires who TimeOut London describes as “a hard-driving jazz-funk quintet playing virtuosic jazz and jazzrock.” The show at Brulees on North Street starts at 8pm and there is no cover charge.
On Sunday, March 6, 89.7 WTBR and Rebel Sound Records present ‘The Dollyrots’ at the at the ITAM Lodge, 96 Waubeek Rd., Pittsfield MA. This ‘all ages’ event begins at 1:00pm, admission is $7, and tickets are available at the door only. A portion of the proceeds will benefit WTBR 89.7 FM. The performance will feature local drummers Jon Hubbard, Tommy Two-Step Brown, Lukie Wheeler, Lefty Harrington, Pete Schweitzer and Jared Wisner who have been asked by the band to stand in for drummer Chris Brown who could not make this show due to a prior commitment. Kudos to The Dollyrots for their support of young musicians and local non-profit radio!
Have a great weekend, RockOn!!!
